Anthony Davis, former Kansas City Chief Linebacker and current Kansas City Chiefs Ambassador, is on a mission to improve the health of the Kansas City community he proudly calls home. He enjoyed a successful NFL career retiring on top in 2001 after winning Super Bowl XXXV with the Baltimore Ravens. Despite his achievements on the field, Anthony feels his true calling is to serve others and has formed "Your Next Play, Anthony Davis Foundation" as a vehicle for this goal. Anthony has been recognized for his devotion to the community being distinguished as the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Kansas City Honorary Chair for CureFinders.

Like many Americans, Anthony is concerned about the increasing epidemic of childhood obesity and its associated health risks. His intention is to help his community improve their quality of life by developing programs in nutrition education, creating health camps, providing scholarships, increasing access to extracurricular activities for socioeconomically disadvantaged youth and mentoring. Your Next Play achieves its mission by collaborating with other successful organizations who are committed to a similar vision for the Kansas City community. Anthony believes every child deserves a chance to lead a healthy life and must be taught the nutrition and exercise habits that reduce their risk of preventable disease and increase their ability to lead active lives in pursuit of their dreams. Though childhood obesity is the organization's main focus, Your Next Play is diversified in its efforts to support all charities through partnerships, volunteering, and being proactive in the community.

Your Next Play is based on Anthony's simple philosophy of life. Marty Schottenheimer, former head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, always reminded the team to "move on to your next play." Essentially, this guiding advice served as a constant reminder to forget the mistakes of the past or the obstacle in your path and commit yourself to accept the challenge, figure out a solution and follow through on an action plan. Anthony took this advice beyond the field realizing how important it is to apply this to everyday life. He wants to teach people how to apply this powerful concept to their own lives. Regardless of the challenge, Anthony feels it is how you react and what you choose to do that determines your character and your future. Anthony simply asks people he comes in contact with to "take a look at where you are in your life in this very moment and decide what is going to be "your next play?"
